Kindergarten Registration will be held on Wednesday, March 1, 2017 in the Clear VIew Auditorium.  Doors will open at 8:15am and registration will begin at 8:30am.  All registrations will be on a first come, first serve basis and priority will be given to students living in the Clear View boundaries.  Please come prepared with all of the required documents and complete registration packet.  Registrations after March 1, 2017 will require an appointment.   If you, at anytime, have questions or to schedule a registration appointment after March 1, please contact the front office at (619) 498-3000.

Will you be accepting Zone Transfers into Clear View?

Clear View will follow the CVESD Administrative Regulation Code 5117 as set out in the Board Policies.

Enrollment Priorities

Parents/guardians may apply for intradistrict/zone transfers within the boundaries of the Chula Vista Elementary School District (CVESD).  Parents/guardians may apply for an interdistrict transfer from neighboring schools district when an Interdistrict Agreement with the district of residence is in place.  New transfer requests are considered when the needs of the attendance area students have been addressed and classroom space is determined to be available.  Renewal transfer requests are considered annually based on space availability, and whether or not there are attendance and/or behavior issues.  Classroom space is prioritized in the following manner according to our district Board Policy

1. Attendance area students.
2. Renewal intradistrict/zone transfer students. *
3. New intradistrict/zone transfer students who have attended the last two consecutive school years at the requested school.
4. New intradistrict/zone transfer requests from staff.
5. Renewal interdistrict transfer requests from staff. *
6. New intradistrict/zone transfer requests of siblings of current students.
7. New intradistrict/zone transfers.
8. Renewal interdistrict transfer requests.*

Why do incoming students need to take a Kindergarten Assessment?

At registration, you will be asked to sign-up for an assessment prior the start of the 2017-18 school year. This is a basic skills assessment that will be given to your child in the child’s primary home language. Staff will use this data to ensure kinder teachers have basic knowledge of your child’s academic abilities. A more comprehensive assessment will be given during the first 10 day of school.

Will I have an opportunity to meet my teacher before school starts and get more information?

Clear View will have a new Transitional Kindergarten and Kindergarten parent meeting in early May with specific dates being communicated to enrolled student parents directly prior to the event.  At this meeting you will receive a tour of the school, review of a sample daily schedule, hear about our various school programs, and extracurricular opportunities.  Each year a few days before school begins, Clear View also hosts a Meet the Teacher event where you will have an opportunity to meet your child’s specific teacher.  This information will be communicated during the summer.
